All About Me (But Mostly the Good Stuff)

I hold a PhD in Computer Science from Cyprus University of Technology since 2021. My current research interests lie in the fields of social networks analysis, security in social networks, fake news, deep learning, big data analysis, authentication security, device-centric authentication, and federated ID.

Driven by my passion for entrepreneurship, I have co-founded and I am the CEO of Trinomial Technologies Ltd., a Cyprus-based SME that aims at performing research, development, and innovation in the ICT domain. The vision of the company is to bring innovative products to the market exploiting cutting-edge research and innovative technologies, while also assisting organizations and individuals in their digital transformation journey.

I am also a member of the International Data-driven Research for Advanced Modeling and Analysis Lab (iDrama Lab), an international group of researchers with deep personal and professional connections interested in a variety of modern computing and socio-technical concerns.

During 2023, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) where I worked with Prof. Michael Sirivianos. Before returning back to CUT in 2023, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher at University College London (UCL), working under the guidance of Prof. Emiliano De Cristofaro.

Postdoctoral Researcher, Cyprus University of Technology
May 2023 - December 2023

Worked with Dr. Michael Sirivianos on EU-funded projects as a member of the Network Systems and Science Research Laboratory (NetSySci). We mainly worked on the development of a password-less authentication solution that is based on an Identity Acquisition and Management platform, as well as on the design and development of an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based assistant that guides users in managing several aspects of their identity on the Web.

Postdoctoral Researcher, University College London
November 2021 — April 2023

Worked with Dr. Emiliano De Cristofaro on Social Network Analysis, Cybersafety, and methods for proactively preventing online harms. We studied the evolution, emotional dynamics, and price interplay in the cryptocurrency ecosystem on social media. At the same time, we focused on detecting and attributing hate attacks on YouTube videos to their source communities. Also, worked on the PROACTIVE project as part of the REPHRAIN Research Center.

Member of the International Data-driven Research for Advanced Modeling and Analysis (iDRAMA Lab), which is a “meta-lab,” an international group of researchers with deep personal and professional connections interested in a variety of modern computing and socio-technical concerns. Collectively, we have published top-tier research in Distributed Systems, Cybersecurity, Privacy Technologies, Cryptography, Machine Learning, and even Video Games and Quantum Computing.

2015 — 2021

Worked with Dr. Michael Sirivianos on EU-funded projects as a member of the Network Systems and Science Research Laboratory (NetSySci). In the context of these projects, I developed several cross-platform Web and Mobile applications, and I had the technical lead of most of these projects. At the same time, in the context of my PhD studies, I was also undertaking research in the fields ofAuthentication Security, Social Network Analysis, and Identity Management on the Web.

December 2019 - December 2020

Worked on the SECONDO and INCOGNITO EU-funded projects. In SECONDO, we worked on the development of a Big Data Collection and Processing module that is responsible to collect risk-related data from internal and external organizational sources for Cybersecurity Risk Assessment. In INCOGNITO, we worked on the development of an Identity Acquisition and Management platform, as well as the design of an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based assistant that guides users in managing several aspects of their identity on the Web.

A research internship where I worked with Dr. Jeremy Blackburn, Dr. Ilias Leontiades, and Dr. Nicholas Kourtellis. We studied the problem of inappropriate YouTube videos targeting young children utilizing Deep Learning, Big Data Analysis, and Graph Analysis.
